Dr Shane Smiths' Story
I became a chiropractor because chiropractic has always been a part of my life. Having a chiropractor for a mother, health, wellness, and mindfulness were principles that I was exposed to from a young age. It wasn’t until much later in my life that I discovered that my exposure as a kid to living well and making healthy lifestyle choices is not something from which all people get to benefit. In fact, between all the advertisements for the latest diet, supplement, or exercise fad, I realized that our modern society frequently exposes us to questionable information regarding “how to be healthy.”
The truth is that being healthy is a state of mindfulness. Granted, there are choices we make (as individuals and as a society) on a daily basis that drive our ability to maintain that state, but the bottom line: You are as healthy as you choose to be.
So, I decided to follow in my mom’s footsteps and become a chiropractor because I want to teach others that each of us is in charge of our own physical, mental, and chemical well-being.
In my spare time, I'm a typical Minnesotan that enjoys my share of time "at the lake" with my wife Emily and two dogs, Quito and Minne.
